Kate van Susante is a classically trained soprano, with degrees in Music Performance from the University of Evansville and Theatre Performance from Michigan Tech. She has performed with choirs around the world and as a soloist with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra. On the stage, Kate has performed in operas including Mozart’s Magic Flute in Rome, Italy. She has appeared in many plays and musicals including several here at Tech.

Kate has been teaching voice at Tech since 2016, but has had private students previously. She enjoys teaching voice, and meeting new students every semester. She likes helping students tackle challenges with a focus on vocal technique and breath and posture. Kate hopes that each student leaves her studio at the end of each semester having found a little bit of the love of music that she has.
