Biography
Jana Meckler is a band director (Michigan Technological University, Hancock Public Schools) vocalist (performing name: Jana Nyberg) and flautist originally from Minneapolis, MN. Jana performs professionally (The Jana Nyberg 5, The Jana Nyberg Group) and plays principal flute in the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra.
A sought-after performing/recording artist, Jana has collaborated with Gigamesh, The Adam Meckler Orchestra, Jason Peterson DeLaire (Michael Bolton) Unus, Rass Kwame and more. She appeared on Season 10 of American Idol and has four full-length albums to date. Known for her expressive and soulful approach, she effortlessly shifts between genres.
