Art is Smart

Visual and Performing Arts students and faculty work together to create engaging and thoughtful works of art. Degree programs prepare students for professions that need both artistic and technical knowledge and skill Whether a student majors in theatre or sound, completes one of the many minors in art or music, or simply participates in the department as a musician, actor, artist, or technician, there is something here for everyone.

"I chose Michigan Tech because when I toured the department I was interested in I fell in love with the atmosphere. It has a great community feeling. I absolutely love my major because it's something that I've grown up passionate about. Some people say you shouldn't make your hobby into a career, but for me it's not a hobby, it's my life. It makes me who I am."
