Biography

Marjory Johnston grew up in Ann Arbor and has played oboe since the 8th grade. She has a BMus from Oberlin Conservatory, a MA in Music History from Case Western Reserve University and a Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan. She has played oboe/English horn in a number of orchestras including Charlotte, NC, Honolulu, Flint, Marquette, as well as the Keweenaw Symphony. She is currently retired from a career in libraries having last worked as Head Librarian at Finlandia University. Except for a few years taken off, she has played in the Keweenaw Symphony since 1987. Marjory is the oboe instructor at Michigan Tech.
