Aspirations in Computing Scholarship

Michigan Technological University is pleased to recognize exceptional female students who are planning to major in computer science or software engineering. Women who have received computing-related awards or recognition through NCWIT or other organizations, and/or have been involved in computing outreach activities are encouraged to apply.

Award Value

Multiple students will be awarded a $1,500 one-time scholarship to be applied toward tuition at Michigan Tech should they enroll as a full-time student the fall following high school graduation.

Essay Response

Write a one-page (300 word) essay addressing the following topic: How would earning a degree in a computing-related field from Michigan Tech allow you to use computing to create the future?

Who Should Apply

Current female high school seniors who are planning to major in computer science or software engineering. Women who have received computing-related awards or recognition through NCWIT or other organizations, and/or have been involved in computing outreach activities are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Complete the free online application for admission by March 15.
Complete the Aspirations Scholarship application form by March 15 (available starting Fall 2019).

Application Deadline and Other Important Dates

March 15: Aspirations Scholarship applications are due by 11:59 p.m. (eastern). You must also have an application for admission on file by this date.
March 31: Award recipients and applicants are notified.
