The International Ambassador Scholarship rewards academically talented undergraduate students who are citizens and residents of countries other than the United States. Eligible first-year and transfer students who have applied and been accepted for undergraduate admission to Michigan Tech are automatically considered for this award.
Eligible students are considered for awards ranging from $11,000 up to $14,300 per year based on academic achievement. These awards are renewable for four years (8 semesters) of study. New students will be considered for the International Ambassador Scholarship based on their GPA:
|Cumulative GPA*||Award Value|
|3.50+||$14,300 per year|
|3.0 to 3.49||$11,000 per year|
International Ambassador Scholarship levels for students who first enrolled at Michigan Tech prior to fall of 2023 can be viewed here.
Scholarship recipients must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 at the end of each spring semester. Continuous, regular full-time undergraduate enrollment (12 credits or more) and acceptable social behavior must also be maintained.
Students eligible for the Alumni Legacy Award or Military Family Education Award are not eligible for the International Ambassador Scholarship. Students receiving the National Business Scholars Award are also not eligible to receive an International Ambassador Scholarship.
