A scholarship opportunity for Michigan students

Michigan Tech's Presidential Scholars Program rewards academically talented first-year undergraduate students who are Michigan residents. Students with SAT or ACT scores on file are automatically considered for this scholarship at time of admission; no separate application is necessary. Official test scores or an essay must be on file* to be considered for this award. *Students with scores on file will receive automatic consideration. Students applying for fall 2021 who do not have, or do not anticipate having, ACT or SAT scores may submit an essay for consideration of this award.

Presidential Scholars Program

Incoming first-year students are considered for awards ranging from $1,000 up to $5,500 per year based on your cumulative high school GPA and SAT or ACT score. These awards are renewable for four years (eight semesters) of study.

Award Requirements

First-year student must meet both the high school GPA and test score (ACT or SAT) requirement. Students applying for fall 2021 who do not have, or do not anticipate having, ACT or SAT scores may submit an essay for consideration of this award.

Students with academic credentials not shown above may qualify for scholarships and/or other financial aid. We encourage you to use our net-price calculator for the best estimate.

Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher (based on full-time enrollment in Michigan Tech courses only) at the end of each spring semester to retain the award for the following academic year. Students must live in the University's residence halls for their first and second academic years to maintain this scholarship.
