My Michigan Tech: Drew Stockero

A welcoming community, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and alumni who blaze trails for current students? Plus, the chance to major where his interests intersect? That’s Michigan Tech for Drew.

Make sound amazing. Make amazing sounds.

When you think audio production and technology, think system design, system installation, and the technical elements of sound. You’ll learn the full range of core skills essential to contemporary audio systems, including the physics behind sound production, fundamentals of computer networking and programming, and electrical engineering. Upon graduation, you’ll have the versatility to work with audio as it evolves.

Enjoy 24/7 studio access—which you don’t find at other schools. Design and calibrate sound systems for live events. Program custom audio software. Produce radio dramas and sound for video games and film. Mix and master. Work on large-scale live productions. Land summer internships at major companies like Disney, Marvel, and Cirque du Soleil (and move your resume to the top of the pile). Sound program grads from Michigan Tech go on to work worldwide in the industry—just like the faculty who prepare you for your career.

"You propose your own project, and work on something you are truly interested in. This helped me learn acoustics, manufacturing, and prototyping concepts. I was involved in designing cost-effective acoustic diffusers. Classes like this inspire creativity, and dive into the topics that help you choose a career." Zak L'Italien, Alumnus
