Audio Production and Technology Bachelor's Degree

Hear the calling: Amplify your future with a degree in audio production and technology.

You enter the room. Sounds leap around you. Sensors track your movements, and the sound changes depending on where you stand and what you're doing. You can't see speakers, but there must be a ton of them because the sound is coming from everywhere. The system and technology behind this experience are incredible—and so are the audio technologists who created it.

In Michigan Tech's audio production and technology degree program, study the tools, techniques, equipment, and theory of modern sound production, from studio to stage, to theme parks and beyond. If you love creative problem-solving and technology, our program gives you the tools you need to succeed in the complex, sophisticated world of audio technology.

Make the world sound amazing. Make a world of amazing sounds. Whether they're stepping up to engineer front-of-house sound at Lollapalooza, setting up speakers for Taylor Swift, or soundscaping award-winning video games, Michigan Tech alumni are making waves in the audio industry. Many of our students walk right into high-level jobs after graduation. Audio production and technology alum Charles Southward's career hit the ground running with Eighth Day Sound, a global leader in live audio for tours and events. Soon after graduation he found himself working with Tyler, The Creator; The Script; and 311. Recently he's worked with Rage Against the Machine, the Taylor Swift Eras tour, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
