College of Engineering

The following engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.


College of Sciences and Arts

Several programs have been accredited within the College of Sciences and Arts.

Teacher Certification Programs

The Michigan Board of Education approves the teacher certification programs offered by our various College of Sciences and Arts departments.

Teacher Education Program

The teacher education program is nationally accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council.

Medical Laboratory Science (BS) *

In Biological Sciences, the fourth-year instruction in the Medical Laboratory Science 3+1 option is carried out in hospitals accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

* Michigan Tech's MLS clinical practica utilize NAACLS accredited teaching hospitals.

Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry offers American Chemical Society (ACS) certified Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Cheminformatics.

Students pursuing the Chemistry BS degree may also choose an enhanced concentration in one of the following areas:

  • environmental chemistry
  • chemical physics
  • biochemistry
  • polymer chemistry
  • chemistry with secondary education certification

The department also participates in interdisciplinary programs including the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program and the Atmospheric Sciences program.

English as a Second Language

The Intensive English as a Second Language (IESL) program is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA).
