COVID-19 Update: AP scores received through the at-home testing option for AP classes will result in the same course placement or credit as traditional AP scores. We are exploring options for students who were planning to take IB exams for HL courses.
Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) are great ways to earn college credit—you probably already know that. Successful scores will be rewarded with Michigan Tech credit, granted at no cost to you.
You must have your official scores sent directly to Michigan Tech from the appropriate testing agency. You may submit your AP scores individually or at one time using Michigan Tech’s code, 1464.
Course Schedule Changes
Any course schedule changes resulting from the receipt of AP, IB, or CLEP credit will be made by the Registrar's Office. If you wish to waive your AP, IB, or CLEP credit or course placement, you may do so by contacting the Registrar’s Office at 906-487-2319 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students who have earned 60 or more credits, including transfer credit, credit earned through early college or dual enrollment, or AP, IB, or CLEP will be charged upper-division tuition. See the Cost of Attendance for details.
Credits awarded by another college for AP, IB, or CLEP exams—or other college placement exams—are not transferable.
