Academic Excellence

The College of Computing is recognized by the National Security Agency as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (NSA CAE-CD) as designated by the National Security Agency (NSA). And the BS in Cybersecurity degree is the validated CAE Program of Study (PoS). Our BS programs in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Network and System Administration, and Electrical Engineering Technology are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org.

Next Gen Careers

The recipient of multiple National Science Foundation grants, the College of Computing working to meet the needs of the United States workforce, including the NSF CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program and the NSF/NSA GenCyber program for K-12 students and teachers. The college is also a State of Michigan Michigander Scholars partner, training the next generation of EV, mobility tech, and semiconductor professionals.

From senior design projects and Enterprise teams to research opportunities, industry-standard learning labs and internships and co-ops, College of Computing students prepare for today’s workplace through hands-on learning and practice. And on our college advisory boards, industry professionals assure that computing programs are teaching the most current knowledge and best practices our students will need for successful careers.

Research Opportunities

With a portfolio of $12.0M and 88 active grant-funded projects, graduate and undergraduate students have multiple opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge computing research, often as paid assistants. The college has 50 active National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, our largest and most frequent sponsor.
