Fall Open House Information

We're so excited you'll be joining us for an Open House at Michigan Technological University! Here is some important information for your day. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at mtu4u@mtu.edu or text/call 906-813-4035.

Check In

Friday, September 20 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or Saturday, September 21 from 8 to 9 a.m.

  • Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts (#10)
    Collect your Open House materials, including a detailed itinerary, lunch tickets, and VIP passes. Free parking is available; follow the Open House signs.

Open House

Friday, September 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

You and your family are invited to participate in an optional campus tour on Friday evening. Campus tours will not be offered on Saturday.

  • Campus Tours
    See our campus with a current student as your guide. To join us for a campus tour, check in by 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Your day will start with a welcome from some of our crazy smart students. Then you'll be ready to dig deeper—highlights of the day include:

  • Michigan Tech Showcase
    Explore our academics by talking with faculty members and department representatives about majors, minors, and more. Representatives from campus services—learning centers to recreation—will also be available to talk about making the most of your time here.
  • Academic Department Visits
    Visit the academic departments you're considering. See exhibits, tour facilities, and talk with current students and faculty.
  • Financial Aid Sessions
    Learn about the financial aid process, including scholarships and filing your FAFSA. Separate sessions will be offered for Michigan and non-Michigan residents.
  • Residence Hall Tours
    Explore any or all of our three residence halls with a current student as your guide.
  • Meet with Admissions and Financial Aid Staff
    Submit your free online application for admission, create your FSA ID for filing your FAFSA, and get answers to your questions.
