Pre-Health  

If you're looking forward to a rewarding profession in the health field, Michigan Tech can help you plan for your future. A wide range of pre-health opportunities are available to undergraduate students preparing for a graduate health program. Students in any major may choose a preprofessional health concentration, and chemistry course work provides an excellent foundation for studies in health.


Pre-Law 

Students can prepare for a legal career at Michigan Tech in a number of majors, including those offered by the chemistry department. The University offers many law-related courses, including Orientation to Legal Careers, International Law, Environmental Problems, and Topics in Cyber Law and Policy. Faculty pre-law advisors are available to help students choose a legal career and plan for law school.

Study Chemistry at a Technological University

At Michigan Tech, you’ll build research skills and foundational knowledge required to succeed in graduate school, research, or industry. You'll learn and experience first-hand how chemistry is central to solving real-world problems in sustainability, human health, environment, and manufacturing. With chemistry faculty that also serve as your research advisors and mentors, you'll experiment with chemistry in the lab and present results in classrooms, research symposia, and scientific journals.

  • Engage in chemistry research: Become involved in a research project under the direction of a faculty member.   • Practice basic chemistry concepts: Work as a peer coach in the Chemistry Learning Center helping other students understand chemistry concepts while reinforcing your grasp of the basics.
