Michigan AGEP Alliance

Since 2010, Michigan Tech has partnered with the members of MAA to test strategies for underrepresented minority student recruitment and retention. The project involves an extensive research component that tests the effectiveness of mentoring and community-building activities on graduate students’ persistence toward a degree and interest in continuing on to a career in academia. A major product of this research for Michigan Tech is the development of student Individual Development Plans.

For more information on the national AGEP project, including AGEP publications and a list of resources for those interested in the project, visit the NSF AGEP website. The NSF also maintains a database of funding opportunities, including opportunities for underrepresented minority students.
