Parade of Nations

Since 1989, the Houghton and Hancock communities have been celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Keweenaw with the Parade of Nations, which is Sept. 17 beginning at 11 am in Hancock. The celebration of unity and culture is open to the entire community. Following the parade, the Multicultural Festival begins at noon at Dee Stadium. For $5 to $8 you can enjoy a full meal or choose from international tidbits. This year’s theme is "The World is One." Everyone is welcome to walk in the Parade of Nations with any of the represented countries. Request a flag of any country here. Volunteer positions are available. Groups may apply to enter a float contest. Visit the Parade of Nations website here.
