Who Can Participate
The Michigan Tech College of Business is beginning its recruitment efforts to field several teams in the 2020-21 competition season. Team rosters are due by October 30, 2020. If you have taken a project management course (OSM3200, OSM4300 or ENG4300), then you have the prerequisite to participate in this internship-like opportunity.
Prizes
Each team will have four to six team members. The winning team receives $5,000 to split amongst its members; however, all top-three finishing teams will receive a monetary reward for their success.
Benefits
Each year the event sponsor—the Western Michigan Chapter of the Project Management Institute—provides Project Management Institute student memberships ($32.00 value) along with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) ($49.50 value) to each team member.
You will obtain preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam by taking this course.
Additional benefits include semester-long mentoring from two seasoned and certified professionals from companies in West Michigan.
Finally, students often obtain internships and career jobs from their participation.
