THE Project—Project Management Competition

Who Can Participate

Michigan Tech School of Business and Economics is beginning its recruitment efforts this fall to field several teams in the upcoming competition.  Team rosters are due by October 30.  If you have taken a project management course (ENT3964, OSM3200, or SSE4300) then you have the prerequisite to participate in this internship like opportunity.


Each team will have 4-6 team members. The winning team in the competition receives $5,000 to split between its members however all top 4 finishing teams will receive some form of monetary reward for their success


This year the Western Michigan Chapter of the Project Management Institute (event sponsor) is providing Project Management Institute student memberships ($32.00 value) along with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) ($49.50 value) to each team member.

You will obtain preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam by taking this course.

Additional benefits include semester long mentoring from two seasoned and PMP certified professionals from companies in West Michigan.  And at the competition there is a reverse career fair with additional networking opportunities at the awards dinner.

Finally, students have obtained internships and career jobs from their participation.

Please contact Roger Woods,, and convey your interest. Roger will give you permission to enroll in the course, OSM 4200 Advanced Project Management.  It requires permission of instructor.
