Addressing the challenges of the age of automation.
I was very interested in finding an engineering discipline that combines many engineering principles to address the challenges of the new age of automation. Michigan Tech Mechatronics has been a great learning experience for me. I was looking for a discipline that combines Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science principles, and the Mechatronics program has been the right answer for that. My learning experience was enhanced when I applied the principles learned in class to my lab practice. This hands-on learning gave me the tools for a smoother transition into industry employment. Faculty in the program always make themselves available to students, and they have been instrumental in my success not only through their teaching and guiding, but also mentoring.
