Trademark Licensing Information

The names Michigan Tech, Michigan Technological University, and their accompanying visual marks are registered trademarks of Michigan Technological University.  The use of the Michigan Tech name, logos, seals, and/or other symbols of Michigan Technological University, in commercial venture, even fund raising or promotional activities requires prior written approval.

Michigan Tech has partnered with Learfield Licensing  to manage the Michigan Tech Trademark Program.

Learfield Licensing is a trademark managing company which specializes in collegiate licensing and branding.  Learfield Licensing represents more than 180 universities, colleges, athletic conferences nationwide.

How can I obtain a license and how do I know if a vendor is licensed?

For information on how to become a licensed vendor of merchandise for sale, or to see a current list of our licensed vendors, please visit the Learfield website.

Look for the Collegiate License Product (CLP) label.  If a label or other notation indicating CLP is missing, it is probably not a licensed product.  For more information regarding CLP please visit The Collegiate Licenses Properties Association.
