About the Artist

David Maass takes you where the birds are. The two-time Federal Duck Stamp competition winner is a master of design, a sensitive observer of the natural world, and one of the most widely published wildlife artists of all time, with more than 150 editions encompassing 215,000 prints.

A flight of diving ducks on a stormy day, a woodcock on a misty upland morning, or Canada geese flexing against the north wind—North America's premier waterfowl painter conveys the world through a hunter's eyes.

The avid sportsman and ardent contributor to conservation organizations has been painting game birds for more than 30 years. In the past 20 he's designed more than 30 conservation stamps and prints. Ducks Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Minnesota Wildlife Heritage Foundation have all named Maass Artist of the Year over the last decade.
