Michigan Tech is mourning William "Bill" G. Jackson, who passed away peacefully on March 1 in Scottsdale Arizona. Jackson graduated from Michigan Tech in 1958 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. George Swenson

George served as Director of the Vermilion River Observatory and Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering before retiring from the Illinois faculty in 1988. '99Christopher Middlebrook aims to speed the flow of information throughout printed circuit boards and processing chips. "We need to couple light between devices with the lowest amount of loss possible," says the ECE associate professor, whose research focuses on optics and photonics. To do that, he is developing new waveguides using Siloxane. The material was developed by Dow Corning, which is funding Middlebrook's research . . .
