Turning this knob moves the field of view in the X direction.
IMAGE SHIFT Y Knob
Turning this knob moves the field of view in the Y direction.
MAGNIFICATION Knob
Selects the magnification of the scan image displayed on the computer monitor.
STIGMA/ALIGNMENT X Knob
Changes the electron beam alignment. Both the beam and the aperture can be aligned with this knob, depending on the alignment mode. This knob is used primarily for correcting the astigmatism of the beam.

BRIGHTNESS Knob
Adjusts the brightness of the compositional and topographic image by varying the video signal dc level.
CONTRAST Knob
Adjusts the contrast of the compositional and topographic image by varying the video amplifier gain.
COARSE FOCUS Knob
Varies the objective lens excitation, focusing the image in the coarse range.
FINE FOCUS Knob
Varies the objective lens excitation, focusing the image in the fine range.
Trackball Unit
Moves the specimen stage in the X and Y directions at lower magnifications.
