Ticketing Policies

By purchasing, accepting, or utilizing a ticket for any event hosted by or through the Rozsa Center, patrons explicitly agree to abide by the following policies, guidelines, and terms and conditions of service.

About Us

Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts at Michigan Technological University’s sells tickets for a variety of different events held on and off campus. These events include Public, Rental, Presenting, and University events such as theatrical productions, and musical performances. Tickets may be purchased via telephone, online, or in person. To purchase tickets in person, the Rozsa Box Office, located on the first floor of the Rozsa Lobby, has regular daily hours and open one hour prior to performances, and the McArdle Theatre one hour prior to performances.
The Rozsa Box Office is closed during Academic Recesses and otherwise communicated dates.

Purchase Guidelines

Our goal is to make your purchasing experience easy, efficient, and equitable, so we can get you on your way to live events as easily as possible. The following is designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process on the Ticketing site. If you have any questions, please contact the Rozsa. Your purchases on our site are subject to these terms.

Currency

All ticket prices for events are stated in United States currency.

Payment Methods

We accept several methods of payment to accommodate your needs. These methods include American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Gift Certificates, and Account Credits for qualifying services.

Student Benefits: Michigan Tech students who have paid the Experience Tech Fee are eligible to receive free or discounted tickets for events within the Rozsa Season. Please note that this benefit excludes specific designated events, such as fundraisers and external rental productions.

Faculty and Staff Benefits: Michigan Tech Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Faculty and Staff are eligible to receive up to two (2) complimentary tickets per performance for events in the Rozsa Season, subject to ticket availability.

Redemption: To claim Experience Tech Student tickets or VPA Faculty/Staff complimentary tickets online, eligible patrons must log in to the Ticketing Operations platform using the MTU Single Sign-On (SSO) option.

Who You Are Buying From

The Rozsa Box Office sells tickets both for the Rozsa Center’s own presenting season and on behalf of external event providers, including community organizations, artist representatives, promoters, and various campus student groups or departments. When you purchase a ticket through the Rozsa Box Office, the Rozsa Center handles the transaction and processes the payment, whether for a Rozsa-presented performance or as an agent for an external event provider.

The Rozsa Center does not partner with any secondary ticketing companies or resellers. If you see our tickets on sale on resale sites, please check our official website first or call us during Rozsa Box Office hours to verify availability and pricing. Be wary of sellers offering tickets on social media, as these can often be scams. Tickets obtained from unauthorized sources may be lost, stolen, or counterfeit, and if so are void.

Pricing and Availability

For the Rozsa Center’s own presenting season, we utilize a Pay As You're Able model. This tiered pricing system allows you to choose the price that best fits your financial situation. Within this program, the “Full Fee” represents the fair market value of the tickets (what would be the standard listed ticket price). If you need to pay less in order to attend, please choose a lower tier that works for you. If you are in a position to contribute more, selecting the "Full Fee+" option allows your generosity to directly support this initiative. Your contribution helps offset costs for other patrons, ensuring the long-term sustainability and accessibility of our programming.

For rental events hosted at our venues, the Rozsa Center acts strictly as a ticketing agent on behalf of external Event Providers; consequently, we do not determine ticket pricing or seating configurations for those specific performances.

Tickets are distributed simultaneously online, by phone, and in person at the Rozsa Box Office. Because all distribution points access the same real-time inventory, high-demand events may sell out rapidly. Day-of door-sales cannot be guaranteed.

Effective June 1, 2026, all transactions will incur fees itemized on a separate line in your cart when purchasing tickets. The final total reflects the ticket price, fees, and tax.

Order Confirmation

If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation number or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm with a Rozsa Box Office customer service representative whether or not your order has been placed. Only you may be aware of any problems that may occur during the purchase process. We will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.

Number of Tickets

When purchasing tickets via our ticketing site, patrons are limited to a specified maximum number of tickets per event. This ticket limit varies by performance, is clearly posted during the transaction process, and is verified with every purchase to ensure equitable access and discourage unfair buying practices.
The Rozsa Center reserves the right to cancel any or all orders and tickets without prior notice if a user exceeds the posted limit. This includes duplicate transactions associated with the same name, email address, billing address, credit card number, or other identifying information.

If you require an exception, such as for a corporate sponsorship agreement, educational group, or other large party agreements, please contact the Rozsa Box Office directly to arrange a group ticket sale.

Canceled and Rescheduled Events

Occasionally, events are canceled, postponed, or rescheduled. Should this occur, we will make every effort to contact you directly with specific instructions regarding refund or exchange procedures.

Canceled Events: If a Rozsa season event is canceled, tickets are generally eligible for a full refund, which we intend to process automatically to the original credit card, debit card, gift certificate, or account credit used for the purchase. For cash transactions, a check will typically be mailed, or an account credit issued, or can be collected in person at the Rozsa Box Office. However, the Rozsa Center reserves the right to evaluate refunds on a case-by-case basis under extraordinary circumstances outside of our control. For rental events, the external Event Provider establishes all refund policies, which may include restrictive limitations or a no-refund policy.

Rescheduled Events: If a Rozsa season event is moved or rescheduled, we will contact you to determine if you prefer to retain your tickets for the new date or request a refund. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date and wish to request a refund, please contact us with your order number to expedite processing. For rental events, the external Event Provider sets all refund and exchange parameters regarding postponed or rescheduled performances.

Seat Exchanges and Modifications

Patrons requesting a seat reassignment or exchanging a ticket for alternative seating will incur an exchange fee, assessed per individual ticket transactions. This policy applies uniformly to all ticketing tiers, including general public purchases and Experience Tech Student Rush Tickets.

Billing Information Verification

Orders are processed only after a billing address and all other required payment details have been successfully verified. Providing incorrect billing or credit card account information can cause processing failures or delay order confirmations.

To prevent issues, please ensure the billing address submitted exactly matches the address associated with your payment card. If your online transaction cannot be completed, please contact a Rozsa Box Office representative during regular box office hours for assistance. The Rozsa Center is not responsible for tickets lost due to unverified or failed transactions.

Delivery Options

Available delivery methods vary depending on the venue, the timing of the purchase relative to the event date, and the nature of the performance. Please carefully review the delivery choices presented during the checkout process. The Rozsa Center does not mail or ship physical tickets.
Depending on the event, the following delivery formats may be offered:

Mobile Wallet Tickets: Digital tickets that can be stored and displayed directly from your smartphone's wallet app.

Print-at-Home PDF Tickets: Digital tickets emailed to you as a PDF, which can be printed out or scanned directly from your mobile device.

Box Office / Will Call: Physical tickets can be purchased in person at the Rozsa Box Office during standard hours, or reserved online for collection at the Will Call window immediately prior to the event.

Pricing Other Errors

The Rozsa Center reserves the right to cancel any ticket or order if a transaction occurs under erroneous conditions. This includes instances where a ticket price is incorrectly posted or communicated, an order is placed before the scheduled on-sale date, or a ticket is purchased prior to its authorized release.

This policy applies regardless of whether the error was caused by human oversight, a system glitch, or a transactional malfunction of this website. In the event of a cancellation due to an error, you may be issued a refund for up to the amount paid, subject to applicable processing or transaction fees.

Multiple Browser Windows

When ordering tickets online, please ensure you are looking for tickets and placing an order using a single browser window. Looking up tickets using multiple browser windows could result in losing your tickets due to our timer expiration.

Limitation of Liability

Objects may fly into the audience area during an event. Despite audience shielding, injury can occur. Stay alert at all times before, during, and after the performance. If struck, immediately ask an usher for assistance to the nearest medical personnel. You voluntarily assume all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring before, during, or after the event, and you waive any claims for personal injury or death against us, management, facilities, artists, other participants, and all of our respective parents, affiliated entities, agents, officers, directors, owners, and employees on behalf of yourself and any accompanying minor. You bear all risks of inclement weather. The event date and time are subject to change.

License; Ejection and Cancellation; No Redemption Value

Event Providers reserve the right, without refund of any amount paid, to refuse admission to, or eject, any person whose conduct management deems disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language, or who fails to comply with Event Provider rules. Breach of terms or rules will terminate your license to attend the event without a refund. A ticket is a revocable license and admission may be refused upon refunding the level paid for Pay As You're Able. A ticket is not redeemable for cash.

Recording, Transmission, and Exhibition

You agree that the event for which you purchase tickets is a public event, that your appearance and actions inside and outside the venue where the event occurs are public in nature, and that you have no expectation of privacy with regard to your actions or conduct at the event. You grant permission to us and the Event Provider(s) to utilize your name, image, likeness, acts, poses, appearance, movements, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmissions, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the event (regardless of whether before, during or after the performance) for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, without further authorization from, or compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf.

You Are Subject to Search

You and your belongings may be searched on entry to the event. You consent to such searches and waive any related claims that may arise. If you elect not to consent to such searches, you may be denied entry to the event without a refund or other compensation. Under certain facility rules, certain items may not be brought into the premises, including without limitation, alcohol, drugs, controlled substances, cameras, recording devices, laser pointers, strobe lights, irritants (e.g., artificial noisemakers), bundles, and containers.

Unlawful Resale of Tickets; Promotions

Unlawful resale (or attempted resale), counterfeit, or a copy of tickets is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. You are responsible for complying with all applicable ticket resale laws. In addition, we reserve the right to restrict or deny ticket purchasing privileges to anyone that we determine to be, or has been, in violation of our procedures. Because we do not guarantee the authenticity of tickets purchased from any unauthorized third-party reseller (such as brokers or individuals), we recommend that you purchase tickets directly from us. Tickets may not be used for advertising, promotions, contests, or sweepstakes unless formal written authorization is given by us, provided that even if such consent is obtained.

Personal Responsibility Statement

Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every person or for all ages. The Rozsa Center provides content guidance for events to alert audience members to common potentially sensitive or distressing material. Guests are encouraged to familiarize themselves with each event in order to make informed decisions prior to attending an event.

Views Expressed Statement

The views, information, thoughts, or opinions expressed in programs or events at the Rozsa are those of the individuals involved and do not necessarily represent the policies of the Rozsa Center or Michigan Technological University.
