Archives Programs and Services

The Archives can make photocopies, scans, and prints of archival material for use in research and publication. The Archives also maintains Copper Country Historical Images (CCHI), from which patrons may freely download low-resolution images to their computer. Patrons may also order high resolution scans and prints from their CCHI account.

Archives staff are available for research support services, not research itself. For email and phone inquiries, staff can assist with identifying resources and finding aids that are most likely to contain relevant records. If you are unable to conduct your research in person, the Archives maintains a list of unaffiliated researchers that you can contact for research on your behalf.

travel iconTravel Grants

The Michigan Tech Archives offers annual travel grants for researchers and scholars from outside the area. The grant is intended to increase awareness of the Archives’ collections and encourage use of some lesser-known resources. With financial support from The Friends of the Michigan Tech Library, the grant supports travel, food, and lodging expenses for prospective researchers.
