Art in Silico Collaboration - TRON (1982) Free Film Screening
Tuesday, September 29th, 6:30 - 9:00 PM, Fisher Hall Room 135
Far ahead of its time, the classic film (rated PG) featured innovative computer graphics and special effects, a soundtrack by legendary electronic composer Wendy Carlos, and a theme that is chillingly contemporary: an AI superhero is programmed to infiltrate an evil corporate computer stealing work from programmers and other corporations. Tron to the rescue!
Doors will open at 6:30 PM with a curated "Making of Tron" video playlist about the CGI, music and tech behind the film. Film screening at 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served during a mid-film intermission. Free to students, staff and the public. Appropriate for children.
