Paul Charlesworth is an associate professor at Michigan Technological University with joint appointments in the departments of chemistry, and education, with research interests in chemical education. He has well cited publications in the field of photochemistry, has several peer-reviewed publications and has presented several recent papers on the use and evaluation of web-based educational technology in general chemistry. Dr. Charlesworth has extensive experience working with, and evaluating, educational technologies such as the World Wide Web and WebCT, digital video and streaming media, conceptual animations, and virtual instrumentation. He is the principal investigator on a current NSF-CCLI proposal (DUE#0127025). Prior to his appointment at Michigan Technological University, Dr. Charlesworth was a postdoctoral associate at Iowa State University. During this time, he developed web-based distribution of virtual instruments for the Iowa General Chemistry Network, and later collaborated on projects with the NSF funded ChemLinks Coalition.

Dr. Charlesworth currently serves as the University Conflict of Interest Coordinator. For more information, visit the Research Integrity and Compliance web page.
