Welcome to the official fall 2020 undergraduate orientation page
Your academic career at Michigan Tech begins with your fall orientation program. Our orientation programs will connect you to the people, resources, and information that will help you to be a successful student and get the most out of your college experience.
We have been busy sending information to incoming students via email and US mail. Click here to see an archive of all the communications going to first-year and transfer students this summer.
Check back regularly for new video tips and inside information, or view our growing YouTube playlist to watch them all.
As a first-year student, you will participate in a four-day program as a member of a team of 15-25 students who share your area of study. In 2020, the first year orientation program will begin just after noon on Sunday, August 23 and run until the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26. Classes start the following day. During those four days, you will get a chance to know your classmates, meet your academic advisor and department, explore resources and opportunities on campus, and make decisions about your future. You will also discover ways to stay healthy, excel academically, get involved, become a student leader, and more. Your time at Tech will be incredible and orientation will help you learn how to make the most of it!
Transfer Student Orientation
If you bring in more than 30 credits that you earned as a college student at another institution, you will attend a one day Transfer Student Orientation. You may opt into the full new student orientation program if you are seeking a more comprehensive experience.
