ECE at Michigan Tech has a long history in power; it is one of the concentrations
students can pursue within Electrical Engineering. Students pursuing this area take
a range of courses to learn about applications like control, electromagnetics, electronics,
power and energy systems, power distribution, and signal processing. This lab is used
to teach students about topics including power factor, single and three phase transformer
configurations, non-ideal transformers, synchronous machines, renewable energy, power
flow and fault simulations, relay settings and relay testing and calibration.
