Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home

A safe haven for victims of domestic abuse or spousal harassment, the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter provides emergency shelter, a crisis line, counseling, and community education and outreach support services which help those impacted by domestic violence find the information and assistance they need.

The Conflict Resolution Network provides a variety of conflict resolution options, training, and services to guide faculty, staff, and students in managing and resolving conflict.

Dial Help offers confidential, non-judgmental services for crisis support, mental health, and more. Their professional team of staff and volunteers empower individuals to find solutions and make healthy decisions. 

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Library Resource Guide

This Library guide serves as a consolidated source to find DEIS information organized into subsections by topic, including race and ethnicity, gender, LGBTQIA+, disability, nationality, and general resources. Resources include book recommendations, journal articles, and many more and will be continually added and reviewed by library staff to ensure quality and relevance.

Equal Opportunity Compliance and Title IX

Equal Opportunity Compliance and Title IX is responsible for the implementation of the University's Equal Opportunity and Discrimination/Harassment Policies.

Title IX

Any student or employee should contact the Title IX Coordinator in order to:

  • Report an incident of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking or gender discrimination.
  • Notify the University of an incident, policy, or procedure that may raise potential Title IX concerns.
  • Obtain information regarding the options available in response to reports of potential sex discrimination.
  • Understand the difference between private and confidential resources, and the resources and support services available to students and employees who are involved in Title IX related incidents.
  • Ask questions about the University's policies and procedures related to sex discrimination.

HuskyFAN

The Husky Food Access Network (HuskyFAN) is available to anyone—no paperwork or approval is required—and is located in Fisher Hall 135. Refer to the order form for up-to-date hours.

Ombuds Office

The Ombuds Office provides confidential and informal problem solving for students, faculty, and non-union staff members of the Michigan Tech community, including conflict resolution and mediation services. Services are intended to be employed prior to initiating any formal grievance procedures.

Public Safety and Police Services

The Michigan Tech Department of Public Safety and Police Services is dedicated to protect and serve our community’s quest for a peaceful and safe existence, free from fear, and with democratic values applied equally to all constituents.

Students

Center for Student Mental Health and Well-being

The Center for Student Mental Health and Well-being delivers a wide-range of services to address the mental health, physical and sexual health, academic and career success, and social fulfillment of our students.

Center for Diversity and Inclusion

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion, located in the Hamar House, fosters student success by providing engaging programs that create safe spaces for students of multiple social and cultural identities.

Dean of Students

The Dean of Students Office is a resource center for all Michigan Tech students including the Attendance Policy and Absence Request form.

Emergency Resources

The Dean of Students Office aims to provide students with a range of resources to address various emergency situations they may experience while enrolled.

International Programs and Services

International Programs and Services (IPS) provides information, services and programs designed to meet the unique needs of our international students and scholars during their time at Michigan Tech.

Learning Centers

Huskies come together to support one another—academic style! Studies show that students who use Michigan Tech’s Learning Centers earn better grades. Get back on track, stay on track, or find your track in an MTU Learning Center. 

Student Advising

All students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor for support in developing and achieving their academic and career goals.

Student Commission

The Student Commission is a broad based group of students, staff and faculty that work together to enrich the student experience for everyone at the University by eliminating or minimizing barriers that are problematic, inefficient or unproductive.

Student Disability Services

Disability Services at Michigan Tech provides support and resources for students with or without a documented disability. Students do not need to have documentation of a disability to discuss strategies for college success with the coordinator of student disability services

Student Health Insurance

Michigan Tech requires all international and graduate students hold comprehensive health insurance.

Accessible Technology

Diversity Literacy Workshop

Successful completion of the Diversity Literacy Workshop is required to serve on faculty hiring and tenure promotion committees and is part of Michigan Tech's ongoing commitment to building a supportive campus climate.

Employee Assistance Program

Eligible faculty and staff, and their spouses and dependents, have access to up to eight free counseling sessions per person from Northstar EAP. Their services can help manage issues that may be impacting your personal and work life including stress, depression, family and marital issues, work relationships, alcohol and substance abuse, and grief.
