About Me

I was born and mostly raised in Kentucky but consider Michigan home, since my time here has been the most formative of my life. I've lived on Lake Michigan in the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area, but I am excited to experience life on Lake Superior in the U.P. I am currently working on my Master's in the Rhetoric, Theory, and Culture program here at Tech.

For my Master's, my research focuses on how black male vulnerability is expressed in hip-hop and can be used as a catalyst for creating change and community. More broadly, I'm interested in Continental Philosophy, phenomenology, social justice, in particular how it relates to spaces and bodies, and creating community through alterity. In my free time, you can find me with my dogs either reading, crafting (mostly macrame, painting, and fiber art), listening to music, watching a documentary, eating (I love food, but coffee is my favorite food group), practicing yoga or spending time outside. I am so honored to be a part of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and am excited to meet you all!
