Why did you choose Michigan Tech? I lived in Houghton. My dad works at Michigan Tech. It made the most sense. Please tell us about a memorable experience you had during your time at Tech. I really enjoyed my time spent with the African Students Organization and being involved with African Night and other events. I also enjoyed getting to know people in the Chemistry Department. After graduating from Michigan Tech in 1997 with her Chemistry degree, Nawana Lawson went on to earn her masters degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She worked in Missouri at Monsato as a formulation chemist for a while, before moving back to Michigan and working at Wayne State as a chemist. Nawana later was promoted to her current position as Hazardous Materials Specialist at Wayne . . .

After graduating from Michigan Tech in 1966 with a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Robert Nelson started a distinguished business career working for several chemical companies. He also did graduate work at Wayne State University. In 1974 he began selling stock plastic shapes and finished goods for an industrial plastics distributor.
