Sarah Carlson is Associate Chief of Surgery for Operations at the VA Boston Medical Center, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University. Dr. Carlson graduated magna cum laude from MTU with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2003 and then attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where she earned a master’s degree in clinical research and an MD in 2008. Bob Lane grew up on a family farm in southern Michigan and graduated from Addison High School where he developed his love for chemistry. He enrolled in Michigan Technological University in the fall of 1968. While at Tech, Bob took just about every chemistry course that was offered and graduated with high honors in 1972. Bob continued his studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a PhD in Chemistry . . .

Why did you choose Michigan Tech? I lived in Houghton. My dad works at Michigan Tech. It made the most sense. Please tell us about a memorable experience you had during your time at Tech.
