Kim Hilton, also known as Chemical Kim, earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Secondary Education Certification at Michigan Technological University in 1991. During her time at Tech, she was an active member of the student chapter of the American Chemical Society, a sister of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, a lab assistant, a chemistry tutor and a participant in cross country and track. Dr. Matheson graduated from Michigan Tech in 1973 with a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Mathematics. He continued his studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and earned an M.S. in Chemistry in 1975 and a PhD in Biophysics in 1978 under Professor Scheraga's guidance.
