Grade: 9-11
Week: June 28 - July 2
Exploration Category: Business/Humanities/Law
Course Details
Creating connections to place is essential for establishing knowledge and good practices of environmental stewardship. This summer youth program invites students to enhance an ethic of stewardship through daily connections at Prince’s Point, located on Soo Line Trail along the edge of Portage Canal. As the fundamental senses and energies in nature and within our bodies, participants will engage in unique sensory experiences (e.g., eyes, ears, nose, touch, and imagination), and the practice of Five Element Qi Gong (e.g., Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water). Finally, students will demonstrate their stewardship experiences and practices by creating a personal anthology using reflection, mixed media, poetry, and illustration.
