Michigan Tech provides multiple opportunities for you to connect with a peer mentor.
Husky Connect is here to help incoming students succeed, feel at home, engage, interact, and get the most out of the University experience. This peer-to-peer mentoring program provided by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion supports first-year, underrepresented minority students, including domestic ethnic minorities, LGBTQIA+ students, and women.
ExSEL Peer Mentors meet weekly with new students who are enrolled in the ExSEL program. Students are paired with their mentors based on academic discipline, and the mentor schedules a weekly meeting with individual mentees following an initial group meeting. It is the peer mentor's goal to support the students they are mentoring, both socially and academically, while providing advice on how to successfully navigate the first year at Michigan Tech.
