We remove snow. Deliver freight. Collect recyclables. Move furniture. Grounds staff at Michigan Tech works indoors and out. We take care of all trees and shrubs on the main campus mall area and around the Student Development Complex—trim, prune, plant, transplant, fertilize, and water. We remove dead, diseased, or hazardous trees and shrubs. Under the direction of a master gardener, we maintain more than 100 garden sites.

Grounds staff hangs banners, fixes signs, and sets up events including Winter Carnival, K-Day, commencement, orientation, Parade of Nations, broomball, Alumni Reunion, and Career Fair.

"There's always something that needs to be done. They work hard."
