New GTAs/GTIs are asked to attend the general teaching orientation on Thursday morning the week before classes begin. This essential session will review national and university instructional policies (FERPA, Title IX, Academic Integrity), basic classroom management and expectations (safety, managing disruptions, inclusion), effective communication with students (in and out of class), and introduce campus instructional resources (Library, Student Services, CTL).
