Strategy for Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) = 1

CADT is Commercial Average Daily Traffic. RMA is Rubber Modified Asphalt. EL, EML, and EMH refer to mix design. The mixture number (2–5) corresponds to gradation, where 2 is the base mix and 5 is the top mix.

For each CADT range in this case and a PASER for a failed surface the cost estimate is $70–$100 per ton and the performance is estimated to extend surface life 15 years.

CADT 0–500

Recommended Maintenance Method for RMA

Reconstruction with extensive base repair and pulverization of old pavement

  • Rubber asphalt overlay (1.5” 5EL)
  • Rubber asphalt leveling layer (2” 4EL)

Original pavement going to two layers at 1.5" and 2".
