Karol L. Grove

Karol L. Grove is a professional land surveyor and certified floodplain manager, licensed in Michigan since 1993. She is the owner of Alpine Land Surveying, Inc., based in Highland, Michigan, which she has led since 1995.
With more than three decades of experience, Grove has been a committed leader in the profession. She has served nearly 30 years on the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) Board of Directors and previously chaired the State of Michigan Licensing Board for Surveyors. At the national level, she is an emeritus member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), where she served on the Professional Surveyors Exam Committee for more than 15 years and chaired the NCEES Awards Committee.
Grove's dedication extends to education and community service. She has chaired the Michigan Future City Competition for the past 10 years, co-chaired the Detroit Gold Cup Hydroplane Races for 20 years, and chaired the Quake on the Lake Races, raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She also launched the Teaching with Spatial Technology (TwiST) Program in Michigan, introducing students to surveying and geospatial sciences, and serves on the Professional Advisory Board for Michigan Tech’s Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering.
Her honors include being named Michigan Surveyor of the Year (2014) and receiving the MSPS Lifetime Achievement Award (2025).
