Biography

Patrick Woock holds a PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Master’s degree from St. Leo University. As the Director of Husky Innovate at Michigan Technological University, he combines this strong academic foundation with prolific scholarship, having recently authored books on Small Business Succession, International Business Startup, and Venture Funding. His work focuses on equipping students and faculty with the rigorous frameworks needed to navigate the complexities of the modern commercial landscape, ensuring that Michigan Tech’s innovations are supported by sound business strategy.

This scholarly expertise is backed by over 20 years of direct experience, including founding nine companies. Patrick’s history of ecosystem building includes his tenure at the McNair Center, where he helped launch the first accelerators for Physical and Intellectual development. He brings this same drive for performance to his personal life; while at St. Leo, he helped launch the Collegiate Triathlon Association and is an Ironman Triathlete himself, embodying the endurance and resilience he instills in the next generation of entrepreneurs.
