Biography
Kimber King is a sound designer, audio engineer, educator and storyteller. King has over 20 years of experience working in the field of live sound and theatre performance. Her most recent vocation was as resident sound designer and audio visual supervisor for The Studio Theatre in Florida. She also toured with ProAudio as a monitor and front of house engineer where she worked with national touring musicians such as Gladys Knight, James Brown, Carlos Santana and Bonnie Raitt. Her early studio experience was as recording and post production engineer for Brilliance Audio, an Audible studio.
A Michigan native, King earned her Associate of Arts degree in music from Muskegon Community College and Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting with an audio focus from Grand Valley State University. As an educator and practitioner, King is focussed on the development of artists' unique voices through the lens of positive psychology. This interdisciplinary approach was her focus at University of Central Florida where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre. She is also a professional actor on stage, screen and at Universal Studios, is a director, and has produced three of her own plays.
