Outgoing Mail and Shipments

Mail Services assists with outgoing shipments to domestic and international addresses. Negotiated discounts with the United States Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), and FedEx ensure you receive the best possible rates—resulting in substantial savings to department budgets.

  • All outgoing mail, including intercampus mail, will be picked up using the assigned departmental green mail bag that Mail Services uses to deliver mail.
    • Please remove incoming mail from the mail bag daily and before adding outgoing mail.
    • Letters must be sorted into the following groups:
      • On-campus
      • Off-campus, stamped
      • Off-campus, postage needed (include your account index)
      • Foreign, postage needed (include your account index)
  • Packages weighing less than 70 pounds can be picked up by Mail Services to be shipped. Packages weighing 70-99 pounds must be brought to Mail Services. We are unable to ship packages weighing 100 pounds or more.
    • Your department will be billed for the service and can request tracking details.
    • Complete the Package Shipping Form, print it out, and attach it on the package for pick up with your outgoing mail.
  • Mail Services will pick up pre-addressed USPS, FedEx, or UPS packages for shipment.
  • Mail may be dropped off at the Mail Services window or in the mail drop located at G40 Administration Building.
  • Large mailings to lists of 200 or more may qualify for nonprofit bulk rate postage. See the Mail Processing page for more information.
