Laura Connolly is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Michigan Technological University. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Alabama in 2018, and completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Connolly's broader research interests include labor economics, economics of gender, public policy, and applied microeconomics. Her current work examines the role of gender in the labor market, and how public policies or economic shocks impact labor market outcomes across different populations. She also serves as the campus advisor to the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, boating, and watching college football and basketball games.
