I transferred from Midland College, Texas. Since I got to Michigan Tech, meeting other students has been helpful to take advantage of all the opportunities the University has to offer. As a peer mentor, I want to help students that are in the same position I was once.

I am a fifth-year chemical engineering student at Michigan Tech with a minor in Nanoscale Science and Engineering. I'm really passionate about research and development and love the aerospace, electronics, and chemical industries. I am the current Electrical Power Systems Team Leader on the Aerospace Enterprise, am a part of several e-boards for student orgs, worked as a Chemistry Learning Center Coach, have done undergraduate research, and have completed co-ops with Encapsys, NASA Ames Research Center, and NASA Langley Research Center. I spend a lot of my free time hiking and camping around the Keweenaw and (safely) messing with fun chemicals in the comfort of my own home. I'm really excited to be working as a peer mentor this year and helping other students figure out the path to their dream job while maintaining a healthy work-school-life balance.

Both the Chemical Engineering department and Michigan Tech as a whole have provided me with countless opportunities of growth. My goal as a peer mentor is to share these opportunities and help others reach their full potential while maintaining a high quality of life.

Michigan Tech offers students many different ways to make the most out of their college experience. As a peer mentor, I hope to help other students realize their potential by taking advantage of the numerous resources our university provides. Feel free to contact me about anything regarding chemical engineering or Michigan Tech, in general. Trust me, I have probably asked a similar question at some point in the past!

Michigan Tech has an abundance of opportunities in and out of the classroom that have helped me grow as a student and as a person. I have completed a 12-month co-op with Koppers Performance Chemicals here in the Keweenaw as well as an internship with Polaris Industries. I look forward to being a peer mentor to share my experience and help other students succeed in their endeavors.
