I transferred from Midland College, Texas. Since I got to Michigan Tech, meeting other students has been helpful to take advantage of all the opportunities the university has to offer. As a peer mentor, I want to help students that are in the same position I was once.

Michigan Tech offers its students many different opportunities to grow and make the most of their college experience. I have completed an eight month co-op with Amcor and have been involved and participated in different organizations and events across campus. I was also an RA for three semesters in Wadsworth Hall. I am very excited to meet the incoming students this year, and share my experience. As a peer mentor, I am looking forward to helping students succeed in their time at Michigan Tech and encourage them to take advantage of the many opportunities on campus.

Through my experiences at Michigan Tech, I feel that I have seen many different aspects of campus, including Residence Education as an RA, Career Fair as a prospective co-op, inside the laboratory as an undergrad researcher, and more. Michigan Tech has a lot of resources that students don’t always know to utilize. As a peer mentor, I hope to help students find those resources as well as help them learn more about their own interests.
