Engineer the Automation Behind Modern Manufacturing

On a manufacturing line, a robotic arm can pick up, position, and move components with remarkable precision. Behind these seemingly simple movements are sophisticated programming, sensors, and control systems.

Industrial robotics uses programmable robotic systems to automate physical tasks in manufacturing and other industrial settings.Combining mechanical systems, electronics, software, and controls, these technologies help automate and coordinate industrial processes.

Michigan Tech's on-campus Industrial Robotics Graduate Certificate emphasizes hands-on training with FANUC industrial robots. You'll develop skills in operating, programming, and troubleshooting these systems, including configuring robotic vision technologies used in industrial automation.

Who is This Certificate For?

The graduate certificate in Industrial Robotics is for experienced industry professionals and Michigan Tech graduate students interested in developing advanced skills in mechatronics. The program prepares professionals for high-demand careers in robotics automation in all industry sectors.

What You Need to Know

The graduate certificate for Industrial Robotics program is designed to help you develop skills and competencies in operating, programming, and troubleshooting FANUC industrial robots, as well as configuring and setting up robotic vision systems commonly used to enhance industrial processes. Working in a lab, you'll operate industrial-scale FANUC robots and learn industry standards of Roboguide simulation software. You'll also develop skills related to network security and cybersecurity of industrial control systems.
