Control the Systems Behind Modern Automation
What allows a robotic arm to move precisely, a production line to adjust automatically, or an automated machine to respond when conditions change? These systems rely on mechatronics: the integration of mechanical, electrical, computer, and control technologies to create intelligent machines and automated processes.
With Michigan Tech’s on-campus Automation and Controls in Mechatronic Systems Graduate Certificate, you’ll build skills for working with robotic and automated systems in manufacturing and industry. You’ll analyze electrical control circuits, model and control dynamic systems, and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation.
Who is This Certificate For?
The graduate certificate in Automation and Controls in Mechatronic Systems is for experienced industry professionals and Michigan Tech graduate students interested in developing advanced skills in mechatronics. The program prepares professionals for high-demand careers in robotics automation in all sectors of industry.
What You Need to Know
In the Graduate Certificate in Automation and Controls in Mechatronic Systems, you’ll develop advanced skills in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, and feedback control systems used in industrial automation.
Learn to calibrate sensors, regulate pneumatic power, program pneumatic and electrical actuators, and analyze control circuits. You’ll also examine system stability, digital control signals, and nonlinear control concepts to strengthen your ability to work with increasingly sophisticated automated systems.
Admissions
