Biography

Sarvada Chipkar is a postdoctoral scholar working with Dr. David Shonnard's research group on the upcycling of military waste plastic in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Michigan Tech. She received her Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in chemical engineering in the year 2017 from Mumbai University, India. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2023 from Michigan Technological University where she pursued her research on characterizing microbial inhibitors affecting the production of bioethanol in drought-stressed switchgrass. Her current research focuses on analyzing the lubricating properties and applications of oil and wax generated from waste military plastic using pyrolysis techniques. In her free time, she likes to do gardening, painting, making DIY things, and cooking different cuisines.
