Biography

Dr. Kozarek’s research interests link physical, chemical and biological processes in freshwater streams, rivers and lakes. Prior to joining the faculty of Michigan Tech in the Spring of 2026, she worked at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kozarek earned her Ph.D. degree in Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech specializing in ecological engineering.

  • Water quality dynamics
  • Linkages between infrastructure and aquatic habitat
  • Freshwater restoration and management
