Environmental Engineering Science MS Degree Program

The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering Science offers focused study in the application of environmental science to environmental engineering practice. This program is designed as a pathway to a career in environmental science. Students admitted to the Master of Science program in Environmental Engineering Science may complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree as part of their MS plan of study.

Under the guidance of an advisory committee, students tailor an academic plan to their individual interests and professional goals, choosing an area of emphasis from the following:

Graduate Learning Outcomes

Accelerated MS Program

Accelerate your education, and get on the fast track to advanced studies in environmental engineering science. The accelerated master’s programs in environmental engineering science allow students to count up to 9 senior-level credits toward both a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering Science. Students completing a bachelor’s degree at Michigan Tech in either civil engineering or environmental engineering may apply to either accelerated master’s program, provided the double-counted credits are transferable to the respective master’s degree (for details, see your academic advisor).

Our accelerated master’s programs offers thesis, report, and course work options designed for highly motivated students who would like to pursue doctoral studies in environmental engineering or gain a competitive edge in industry with an accelerated advanced degree. There is a growing demand for graduates with a master’s degree in engineering, and the accelerated program will provide you with a pathway to meet this need in fewer semesters.
