Dr. Apriesnig joined the College of Business at Michigan Tech in 2018. In her research she evaluates natural resource issues through a regional economic lens.  Part of her work includes developing computable general equilibrium models that can be coupled with other systems to evaluate a robust suite of impacts.  While interested in many natural resources, fisheries and Great Lakes resources are of particular interest to her.

Dr. Apriesnig is currently contributing to an EPA funded project and a DOE funded center, C-Charm. Both are exciting projects that allow her to work with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate environmental, resource, and health concerns of local communities.

Beyond scholarly work, she works with colleagues at Michigan Tech to perform regionally relevant economic impact studies that support local policy and decision making while also providing research experience to undergraduate economics students.
