Joseph Williams

Joseph Williams is an automation leader who turns advanced manufacturing technologies into scalable, deployment-ready systems. At General Motors, he leads multidisciplinary teams across robotics, vision, controls, simulation, and systems integration.

His focus spans technology strategy, industrial automation, computer vision, motion planning, controls, deployment readiness, and building high-performing engineering teams. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Michigan Technological University in 2022 and a Master of Business Administration from Michigan Technological University in 2024.

Joseph’s academic and professional journey reflects a strong blend of engineering depth, manufacturing experience, and leadership development. He credits his undergraduate foundation in automation, manufacturing processes, and tooling design with preparing him for increasingly complex work in manufacturing systems, while his MBA strengthened his capabilities in technology-driven decision-making, management, innovation, and strategy. Those combined strengths have supported his progression from early engineering and automation roles into global automation strategy and technical leadership at General Motors. He is also pursuing a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering at Michigan Technological University, with an emphasis on collaborative systems.
