  • MS Business Administration 2024

Joseph Williams is a robotics and automation leader who turns advanced manufacturing technologies into scalable, deployment-ready systems. At General Motors in Warren, Michigan, he serves as the Manager of Robotics Technology Development, leading multidisciplinary teams across robotics, vision, controls, simulation, and systems integration to mature high-risk concepts into production-representative solutions for GM plants and operations. He is equally committed to growing people and strengthening technical organizations, bringing structure, momentum, and a safety-first mindset to challenges ranging from new robotics use cases to enterprise roadmaps and executive decision-making. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Michigan Technological University in 2022 and a Master of Business Administration from Michigan Technological University in 2024.

Joseph’s academic and professional journey reflects a strong blend of engineering depth, manufacturing experience, and leadership development. He credits his undergraduate foundation in automation, manufacturing processes, and tooling design with preparing him for increasingly complex work in robotics and manufacturing systems, while his MBA strengthened his capabilities in technology-driven decision-making, management, innovation, and strategy. Those combined strengths have supported his progression from early engineering and automation roles into global automation strategy and technical leadership at General Motors.

He is also pursuing a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering at Michigan Technological University, with an emphasis on collaborative robotic applications. That work aligns closely with his broader career focus in advanced manufacturing, automation, and robotics innovation.
