Kate graduated from Michigan Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1979. In 1984, she earned her Juris Doctor in Environmental Law from the University of Oregon. Kate is the senior program director at Earth Tech, where she is responsible for monitoring the development of state and federal brownfield and hazardous waste management programs for clients that have included Bristol Myers, Masselink Electroplating, and Dow Chemical. She is a member of the Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Manufacturers Association, and Michigan Chamber of Commerce Solid and Hazardous Waste and Part 201 Subcommittees. Kate also serves on the board of directors for the Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Michigan. She is a lecturer for Michigan Tech each fall, teaching two weeks of environmental remediation regulations for department seniors.
